Last night I had the dream again
Horrific floating skyscrapers of water
Dwarfing my gargantuan ship of bloated steel
Crushing pressure on my gasping chest
That made me wretch and choke
Then I was a fragile creature in the sea
Towering looming waves that refused to break
Even though I closed my eyes and braced
My toes into the sand while my arms went limp
Endless dread transformed into resignation
The sky obscured by menacing water
I awaken sharply, confused and heaving
Into soft cold pillows and strong warm arms
Blissfully content in my reality
